THE DEAD AND THE QUICK

As I wrote in my previous post, I was always going to be a little late last night, not because I wanted to go to the new exhibition at the Wellcome Collection (wellcomecollection.org/whats-on/exhibitions/death-a-self-portrait.aspx), but because I'd been invited to a private view (at Look Mum No Hands in Old Street) of photographs of cyclists, including one of TFK regular Charles.  That didn't start until 6:30 so I got to the Golden Lion at 7:45, by which time I'd missed Robert the director, and Dan and Lee the designers were finishing the first bottle of wine.  Max the editor arrived from a stint at BBC Salford and we shared his shock that the Peroni he bought cost £5.95.

We had a collective review of the new Bond film and a discussion about whether or not the franchise is as anachronistic as page 3 of the Sun.  I'm sure we covered more intellectual subjects but this was probably while I was at the bar.

The next meet-up with be Thursday 20 December.  If you'd like to suggest a suitable venue, please let me know and I'll post it here at the start of that week.
