I sold my 100mm macro lens a few months ago to part fund an 85mm which I find to be a better length for portraits, so I've been unable to photograph really small things since then.  I now have a new commission which involves macro photography but instead of splashing out on another new lens I've just bought a new 25mm extension ring that I can use with some of the lenses I already own.  To test it out I took some shots today of a light bulb which burned out last night.  I don't want to get sentimental about an inanimate object but I think there's something quite poignant about a light bulb dying.  I'm sure that Dylan Thomas would understand.
