Back from a long weekend in Paris which included various photographic diversions, including a trip to the beautiful Grand Palais to see a major retrospective of Helmut Newton's work.  Many of his trademark black and white big nudes and mannequins were there, as well as lots of illustrations for the likes of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.  He famously described himself as "a gun for hire" rather than an art photographer.  Either way, he developed an almost instantly recognisable style that made him so very popular with fashion editors for almost half his life, and with gallerists even more so since his death.
