I was taking photos last night at a wedding showcase in Bluebird Café on the King's Road, where I've shot events a couple of times over the past year.  Once again I was fascinated by the vintage models on display, like this little clockwork one with a heroic Major Sir Malcolm Campbell reclining in the cockpit.  He broke the land speed record in his Blue Bird car several times in the 1920s and 1930s, an age before jets and rockets more than doubled the speeds achievable then.  I can't find anything on the internet about a speed record for cars powered by clockwork, so if you'd like to be immortalised for setting the first one, now's the time to start building.
