DANCING IN THE SHADOWS

Last night I went to the VIP/Press opening of The Maverick Expo at The Bargehouse at Oxo Tower Wharf, where a friend of mind is one of more than 30 emerging artists exhibiting their work in one of the few remaining ungentrified spaces on the South Bank.  In fact parts of the building looked really quite derelict, including the top floor where a DJ was setting up his equipment by the light of this single fluorescent tube on a distant wall.  Two floors below I was tempted by an optatych of a dancer (or perhaps eight different dancers), painted with Chinese ink, in a style influenced by the theatre of ancient Greece, but unfortunately I just don't have enough space at home.  If you do, and/or you would like more information about the show, please visit maverickexpo.com.
