Today I walked for a few miles from St Paul's cathedral via Tate Modern (where I visited the Robert Mapplethorpe exhibition and photographed Marcus from Brazil outside the Kazimir Malevich one, which I didn't visit) along the South Bank and up to Marble Arch.  Opposite the Oxo Tower I looked across the Thames and felt my jaw actually drop as I took in this view.  A few weeks ago I'd heard something on the radio about contemporary artists interpreting the techniques used in World War I to camouflage ships, but I wasn't quite ready for this.  Shock and awe indeed, in a good way.
