On what may well be the last day of summery weather this year, I was walking through my local park this morning and happened on Bodie, an English Setter who was doing the same thing as me, although a little slower, but at more than 12 years of age he's entitled to set his own pace.  We spent a couple of minutes together beside a huge swathe of wild flowers which I'm sure he knew well, and could smell far more distinctly than any human could.  Perhaps we should all take a lesson from Bodie and stop to smell the flowers when we can.
