On my way into London yesterday I stopped off at the Olympic Park and visited the ArcelorMittal Orbit for the first time.  It doesn't seem that long ago that I was watching the construction of this sculpture on a daily basis from the train line that runs alongside it, but it's now three years since the team of (only) four men completed it.  The views from the top are as unique as the design, and loudspeakers all the way down the spiral staircase play soundscapes recorded around East London, which helped a little to diminish the feeling that I was in some kind of giant cheese grater.
