Just after uploading my shots at the end of a corporate shoot last week my six year old MacBook Pro died.  A trip to the local Apple Store the next day confirmed that the display chip had failed, and as I'd already been through all that three years earlier and had to replace the whole motherboard, I cut my losses (or more accurately, increased my credit card balance) and bought a new one with a faster, solid state disk and a sharper Retina display.  For safety's sake I removed the hard disk and dropped the rest (apart from the battery) into the bin, but before I did I thought I'd photograph the part I find as attractive as the outside, and certainly more fascinating.
