At this time of the year, magicians from all over the world converge on Blackpool for the annual UK convention.  I've watched lots of them performing lots of tricks, and have photographed some at close range again and again, and yet I'm always bemused by their skills and ingenuity.  I've made portraits of a few magicians this week, and in this one I didn't catch the subject off guard, he just wanted to stand as he would when showing a shuffled deck to an audience.  Incidentally, a fortune teller's interpretation of a Jack of Spades card in a spread is that troubled times are likely.  Let's hope not.
